Alpha Wolves

After seeing the abundance of young talent that Springfield has to offer I have decided to split the JR Wolves program into two parts. The regular JR Wolves program is still available to the casual soccer player who wishes to learn basic skills and enjoy a positive social environment to play in. For players looking for a more challenging training program we are offering Alpha Wolves.

Alpha Wolves is a program for young players who love soccer and know that they would like to play at the Travel level soon. Many of the top soccer programs in our area offer "academy" programs for their younger players and that is what we are looking to do. Players will be trained with more complex skills and drills focusing beyond individual skills and incorporating team play. We will also start to focus on positional play such as offense, defense, and goal.

All Alpha Wolves training sessions will be run by Coach Keith directly and will be conducted at our Travel Soccer Field at New Netherwood Field behind Slack's Hoagie Shack on Baltimore Pike.

This program will still be fun and not overly intense but will be more demanding than the regular JR Wolves program. Please do not hesitate to call with any questions that you may have.

JR Wolves

JR Wolves Pee Wee Soccer is soccer training program for children 4-8 years old.

The primary goal of this program is teach pre-travel soccer age players the basic skills they are going to need in a fun, low intensity, learning environment teaching teamwork, fitness, and soccer through a series of games and drills. Many of the areas top soccer programs start with a solid youth training program and while Springfield does offer intramural soccer many players are not getting the instruction they need.

A secondary goal of this program is to educate parents about soccer and give them a variety a skills and drills they can work on at home with their kids. While parent participation is not mandatory it is encouraged.

The JR Wolves Pee Wee Soccer program will run in two 8 week seasons, one in the fall and one in the spring.

Skills include:

  • Dribbling
  • Passing
  • Receiving/Trapping
  • Shooting
